November 4th, 2010Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” sells over 1 million copies on the first week in the USA

Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” will debut at No. 1 on this week’s US Billboard 200 Albums chart with a whopping 1,047,000 copies sold, according to Billboard. It’s the largest sales week for an album since 50 Cent’s “The Massacre” bowed at No. 1 with 1,141,000 in March of 2005.

In the history of U.S. Billboard Nielsen SoundScan, “Speak Now” becomes only the 17th album to have sold over a million in a week.

On the females side, “Speak Now” is the biggest female album sales week since Britney Spears sold 1,319,000 in one week of her album “Oops!…I Did It Again” in May 2000. Taylor’s “Speak” becomes the 2nd album by a female artist with the biggest sales week ever, only after Britney.

October 7th, 2010Taylor Swift’s “Mine” cross 1 million paid downloads

“Mine” becomes this week Taylor Swift’s 11th song to surpass the mark of 1 million digital downloads. Taylor’s best-selling digital single is “Love Story” with 4,7 million copies, followed by “You Belong With Me” with 3,37 million, “Our Song” with 2,65 million downloads and “Teardrops On My Guitar” with 2,5 million. The other 6 songs are: “White Horse” (1,9 million), “Tim McGraw” (1,6 million), “Picture To Burn” (1,26 million), “Today Was A Fairytale” (1,22 million), “Should’ve Said No” (1,14 million) and “Fifteen” (1,03 million). Taylor Swift is the best-selling female digital artist in the history of the digital chart.

January 29th, 2010Taylor Swift’ “Fairytale” breaks Britney Spears’ download record + Debuts at #2 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100

Taylor Swift breaks Britney Spears’ “Womanizer” record for highest digital first week sales by a female artist as “Today Was A Fairytale”, a song from the soundtrack of the movie she’s debuting in as actress “Valentine’s Day”, as the song was legally downloaded 325,000 times opening at #1 on The U.S. Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart.

In October 2008, Britney Spears’ “comeback” single, “Womanizer” shifted 286,000 downloads on the first week making it the highest digital first week sales for a female artist and now the record belongs to Taylor Swift.

“Today was a fairytale” debuts at the runner-up spot of The U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart being held off by Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK” that spends it’s 6th straight week at the top slot of the songs chart.
