Taylor Swift is nominated for 5 awards at The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM’s) to be held on April 18 at The MGM Grand Hotel Arena in Las Vegas being broadcasted live at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on CBS. Taylor Swift has received from 2007 through 2008 a total of 8 nominations winning 3 awards from the Academy: Best New Female Artist (2008), Album of The Year for “Fearless” (2009) and Crystal Milestone Award (2009) for her outstanding contributions to Country music as making the genre a mainstream music form for younger people. Taylor Swift’s lead-single for her last album “Fearless” has been certified 4x Platinum for being legally downloaded over 4 million times off digital retailers in the U.S. “Love Story” becomes the biggest selling country single from the Billboard digital singles era (since 2005, when digital sales started being officially tracked by Billboard). “Love Story” became Taylor’s first Top 5 Hot 100 hit and also her first Top 5 Pop radio hit (both peaking at #4). The plaque specifies 5x Platinum for her debut album, “Taylor Swift” (2006) and 5x Platinum for “Fearless” (2008) totalizing more than 10 million copies sold in the United States alone. USAToday.com : The first single from Taylor Swift’s third album will go to radio in late summer or early fall, and the album will follow late in the year. “She was on an amazing writing spree through December and January, and we were able to go in and cut all those things,” Scott Borchetta (Big Machine Records chief, Taylor’s label) says. “If she writes something great between now and July, it will go on the record. Taylor Swift had a great night at The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards that took place yesterday (January 31) at The Staples Center in Los Angeles. Taylor walked out with 4 awards (out of the 8 she was nominated to) including one the biggest awards of the show, the “Album Of The Year” award. Taylor won Album of The Year and Best Country Album for “Fearless” and Best Female Country Vocals and Best Country Song for “White Horse”. She was also nominated for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocals for “You Belong With Me” and Best Pop Collaboration for “Breathe” with Colbie Caillat, The winner of Record Of The Year was Kings Of Leon “Use Somebody”, Song of The Year and Female Pop Vocals by Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” and “Halo”, respectively and Pop Collaboration was won by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat “Lucky”. Taylor performed with Stevie Nicks a medley of 3 songs: Taylor’s “You Belong With Me” and “Today Was A Fairytale” and “Rhiannon”, a 1976 song by rock band Fleetwood Mac whose Stevie is a member of.
